Greetings American Legion Family
I thought would give you all a reminder of upcoming events. These are open to all members of the Legion Family and not meant of officers only.
Event: District Family Rally, St. Paul Park Post 98
Event: Department Pearl Harbor Rally, Faribault Post 43
As your District President I have been attending many events around our district and attended many Department events. These events are meant to be fun and informative for all our Legion Family Members. Your Department an District Officers work hard to put together these events to make them interesting to all. The December 1st Rally will have its main focus on the Legion but you will also hear updates from the other Family branches. So come one come all. If you have memberships to turn in between November 24-30 then bring them to the Rally!
I encourage all member to pay attention to what is going on in our Legion Family. There are many resources available to help run your organization.
Legion WebsitesAuxiliary websites:
Sons of the American Legion (SAL)
I encourage everyone to check out the websites and find out more information about the organization to which you belong. If you know someone that does not have a computer, or that doesn’t know how to use one, perhaps you can help them by bringing them to your local library or print and share some of the information with them.
Have a great Thanksgiving!
Lynn M. Duffy, President
Third District American Legion Auxiliary
Q: I am related to someone who served on active duty during one of the membership eligibilty dates. Can I join the Auxiliary of The American Legion?
A: If your relative who served on active duty during one of the membership eligibility dates and is a member of The American Legion, you may join the American Legion Auxiliary of The American Legion.
However, if the qualifying Veteran is deceased you may join the appropriate organization, even if the qualifying Veteran was not a member of The American Legion when living.
